Report: Mercedes-Benz includes buyback in Russian assets deal

BERLIN, Apr 19 (PRIME) -- Car producer Mercedes-Benz has kept the opportunity to return to the Russian market by buying back the assets if sanctions are lifted, newspaper Handelsblatt reported on Wednesday citing a company representative.

"We have arranged with the buyer the opportunity to buy shares of the company back if sanctions (on Russia) are removed," the representative said.

According to Russia's register of legal entities, Russian dealer Avtodom acquired a car plant and company Mercedes-Benz Capital Rus providing leasing and insurance services. The deal is still subject to approval by the Russian authorities, a representative for Avtodom said.
